We support local and overseas missions and
like to support projects where we can develop a strong connection with the people we support.
MBC has a special connection with YWAM and in particular the Nelson YWAM Base. We welcome staff and students from any YWAM base to stay with us in Wellington.
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is the foundational course to be eligible to staff on a YWAM base anywhere in the world. YWAM staff on bases worldwide all cover their own accomodation, food and outreach expenses with support from freinds, families and churches.
MBC currently support two young people who are members of MBC. Petra is staff at YWAM Nelson and Vaughan at the Furnace base in Tauranga.
A 2023 highlight was supporting and praying for a team of thirteen, on a four week outreach to Uganda to serve at the
Hermitage Secondary School and the David Tyler Nursery and Primary School.
We invite you to watch this 3 minute video on the DAVID TYLER SCHOOL.
There are 2.5 million orphans in Uganda.
With no free government education in Uganda, many families cannot afford to send their children to school. The David Tyler School is a Christian school that provides an education for some of the most vulnerable children in Africa.
In 2018, the Dugdale Charitable Trust funding the purchase of 6 acres to provide an area for new school buildings. The land is also used for growing food to help feed the chidlren. The Trust funded the provision of electricity, water tanks new classrooms, teachers accomodation, dormitories, a kitchen and an office.
Maungaraki Baptist Church and Maranatha Christian School have supported the Dugdale Charitable Trust with this project since 2017 and sponsor a number of children at the school.

The Village is now thriving with a number of young people having found their feet, obtained a job and become more independent.
NIGEL CHRISTENSEN is a regular speaker at MBC and his messages are always appreciated.
Nigel speaks on a range of topics that give the perspective and context of the Jewish writers of the New Testament.

MAF was the vision of Murray Kendon, who along with his wife Minnie, fundraised for the first MAF plane over 75 years ago.
Every three minutes, a MAF plane takes off or lands somewhere in the world, from one of the over 1500 landing strips and airfields.
RENNE BREWER is also from NZ and currently serving with Mission Aviation Fellowship in PNG.
She met up with Minnie Kendon after speaking at MBC one Sunday which was a delight for both people.
Her initial training with MAF was in Uganda in preparation for PNG.
